The statue is part of a collection of sculptures by Matthias Bernhard Braun on the premises of a hospital in Kuks. It is one of the most famous sets of the Czech Baroque sculptures, perfect in form and rich variations of the theme. The decoration of the Kuks Hospice is rightly the most significant works of the High Baroque in Europe.
