This one-room school house is located on the main street running north-south through Nanton, Alberta. It was unfortunately closed when we visited the area. There is very limited information online about this school house:

Located on Highway 2 North, near Main Street, this little yellow school house has become a favorite place for tourists to stop. The school house was originally built in 1906 and was located northwest of Nanton and has been fully restored by the Fitzgerald Family of Nanton.
There are two signs on the front of the school. Interestingly, each has a different spelling for the name of the school.
There is a "modern" sign beside the front entrance which reads:
McEwan School
Dedicated to C.A. and Wanda Fitzgerald for their outstanding commitment to the preservation of our heritage.
And there is an older sign (original or possibly a replica) above the front entrance which reads:
MacEWAN SCHOOL
DIST NO 1663
