Lots of parking and good access via public transit. Heritage Park is also situated adjacent to Calgary's extensive network of biking / walking trails.
This 176 acre park includes several distinct areas: an old-time amusement park (1904 carousel, swing ride, ferris wheel); a replica fur trading fort (1860); a pre-railway settlement (buildings from 1874 thru 1903 including a schoolhouse, tent-cabins, a North West Mounted Police post); ranching (ranch house, barn, soddy); a railway prairie town (includes operating steam train, several shops, houses, church, schoolhouse all dating between 1887 and 1910); resource development (mining, Dingman discovery well, etc.)
Basic admission includes access to the park, access to all buildings and a free pancake and sausage breakfast, served daily in Gunn's Dairy Barn. Daily admission prices range from approx. $9 (child) to $14 (adult) to $46 (family). You may also purchase a ride bracelet, good for all amusement park rides and the train. Or you may pay for your train and amusement park rides individually.
