...the gnomon made from an old ship's spar and held up by poles and plastic rope, flotsam off the beach. The indicated times are from 6.00am to 8.00pm, accuracy is not guaranteed!
There are only two houses on Gugh, an island reached from St.Agnes over a tombolo which is a spit of sand and rock formed when the approaching waves are refracted round the island, in this case westerlies refracted around St.Agnes, piling rock and sand to form a connection which is dry at low tide and covered at high tides.
