At Pokolbin, in the Hunter Valley, just off of Old North Road, by about 40 metres, is the concrete pedestal trig, called Thistle. Official Code: TS5987
Waymark Code: WMTBCZ
Location: New South Wales, Australia

There is a white plastic post, and black, semi-circular vanes on top of the concrete pedestal. The name plate is in place.
Thistle is opposite a vineyard, but the paddock that the well-kept trig is in looks like it had cattle in it in the past.
About 5 metres west (possibly WSW) of the trig is a steel "PM" survey box. When I investigated that on Sunday night, 8.15 pm, 28 June, 2015, I found only dirt (initially). On removing quite a bit of dirt, I found a round bronze disk, with a triangular emblem. The cast writing indicating that it had been placed there by the Australian Surveyors Corp.
