This is an accessible sundial, created by Anton Schmitz in 1978 as an artwork for the Rheinaue Leasure Park in Bonn. The instructions for use say:
1. To read the time, place your heels on the center line of the calendar scale, which corresponds to the current date. The cross-marks mark the first day of a month.
2. The time (CET) is read in the direction of the extension of the body's own body.
3. If the direction of the shadow falls on the name of a place, then it is "true noon" at this time (highest position of the sun).
4. At the back extension of the shadow, you can see where it is "midnight" at the same time.
Sundial Type: Horizontal - Flat base, Ground or Pedestal mounted dial plate
