On the occasion of the opening ceremony of the new-formed marketplace a tree was planted. It was the gardener Ferdinand Lindohr, from an old local family, to which the order was given to plant this tree. He selected a plane-tree which particularly distinguishes itself by its quick growth.
The tree ist listed in the "Liste der Naturdenkmale in Erpel" under ND-7138-445.
