The Bamberg Rose Garden was designed in the style of an antique Roman garden. Part of the design are statues of Roman deities.

The Statue of Ceres was sculpted by Royal sculptor Ferdinand Dietz in 1761.

In Roman Mythology, Ceres is the goddess of agriculture, grain crops, fertility and motherly relationships.
