Sculpted in metal by Winona, MN artist Howard Tomashek, this sculpture captures the almost cartoonish aspects of the Northern Saw-whet Owl. Created in 2014 and acquired in 2015, this sculpture is one of many placed throughout town, created by Tomashek, to celebrate the new International Owl Center (opened in 2015). This sculpture was placed behind a city bench next to Eastwood Bank. It features the owl perched and looking at you as you pass by. An information board for the owl is posted below the sculpture. There is street parking throughout the city of Houston so access to the sculpture and parking are not an issue.
