In Salem's downtown area, if you and your dog have a hankering for food, there is Flying Saucer Pizza, where you can enjoy a meal outside in their patio area.

The pizza place is located at a plaza at the corner of Essex Street and Washington Street, and is behind the 'Bewitched' statue.

The restaurant has a fenced off area around the entrance with several tables. To the right, I saw a sign, titled: "Rules for Diners with Dogs."

Here are the rules:
"- No more than 1 dog per diner.
- Animals must be leashed at all times or kept in a closed animal carrier.
- No barking, jumping, or begging
- No eating from the table or out of hand.
- No sitting on tables, chairs or other furnishings
- Do not enter from the inside of the restaurant
- Animals must be under control of guest at all times
- Current vaccination tags must be on pets collar
- Pet must not disturb other patrons
- Pet must sit as close to the table as possible
- Pets are not permitted inside the restaurant"

Flying Saucer Pizza is primarily a pizza place that has a science fiction and superhero theme. The food is great with creative toppings - and creative names to go with them.
