Saalequelle am Waldstein

ie Saalequelle, auch Sächsische-Saale-Quelle, ist der Ursprung der Saale, eines Nebenflusses der Elbe und eines der vier bedeutenderen mitteleuropäischen Flüsse (Saale, Eger, Naab und Main), die im Fichtelgebirge entspringen. Sie entspringt in einer Höhe von 707 Metern über dem Meeresspiegel. Sie liegt am Fuße des Großen Waldsteins am nordwestlichen Rand des Fichtelgebirges, auf dem Gebiet der Gemeinde Zell im Fichtelgebirge im Landkreis Hof in Oberfranken.

The Saale spring also known as Saxon-Saale-spring is the origin of the Saale, a tributary of the Elbe and one of the four more significant central European rivers (Saale, Eger, Naab and Main), which originate in the Fichtelgebirge. It lies at the foot of the Great Wallenstein on the northwestern edge of the Fichtelmountains, on the territory of the municipality Zell im Fichtelmountains in the district of Hof in Upper Franconia. The spring is in a height about 707 meters over sealevel.
