This plaque was laid in 2015 to commemorate Stellan Skarsgard.
"Stellan Skarsgård is one of the most popular and versatile Swedish actors of his time. He is also one of the few European actors who have successfully built an international career both in Europe and in the U.S.
He has worked successfully in Europe and in Hollywood for years, all the while retaining his image as a respected and interesting serious actor. Skarsgård won international acclaim and a Silver Bear for his role in The Simple-Minded Murderer by Hans Alfredson. He also received accolades for his role in the Oscar-nominated picture, The Ox, by Sven Nykvist.
Many cinephiles recognise Skarsgård for his unforgettable performances in films directed by the Danish master, Lars von Trier. Skarsgård has starred in such films as Breaking the Waves with Emily Watson, Dogville, Melancholia and last year’s Nymphomaniac.
Other eminent directors have also appreciated Skarsgård’s talent. He starred in Gus Van Sant’s Good Will Hunting, and David Ficher’s The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. He also played the title role in Miloš Forman’s Goya’s Ghosts.
Stellan Skarsgård’s work includes roles in American box-office hits such as Pirates of the Caribbean, Mamma Mia!, Cinderella and Marvel’s Thor and Avengers films."
