The seal of the city of Coburg shows the town's patron saint, Saint Maurice.

Pictures of the saint first appeared on coins in the early 14th century. The image has been practically unchanged for over 500 years.

The seal can be found on several manhole covers across town. This one is downtown on Albert Square.
