This former one-room school was kept in good condition after it was no longer needed as a school from consolidations, having been maintained by a New Bethel School Preservation Association (see link below). It may have been used as a community center after its "school daze" were over. At the time of this waymark posting, the inside of the building was being remodeled for new use, but as to what that is, I do not know. It could become a community building or a private home. A future visit will have to enlighten the reader.
The roof, cobblestone siding, doors and windows are in excellent condition. There is a hand-operated pump in the front yard, but I could not get it to pull up water. The single outhouse in the back is in the manner of the old privies, but is obviously relatively new.
