This building is located exactly where the topographic maps (for example, see link below) place the Moss School. It is now called
Moss Church. The building obviously dates back to the days before the country schools were eliminated in favor of consolidation. But an extensive web search only turned up mentions of the school.
It is not clear whether it was also used as a church back then, which was very common; or whether it became a church building later on. You may notice that the steeple looks like it could have been an add on (not saying that it definitely is), since there is no bell in the steeple, and it is over the cloak room, rather than being on the main part of the building. If it was also a union church back then, there would probably not have been a steeple. The steeple may have been added when the building lost its use as a school.
