Old PRR extended cab caboose located near the former New York Central, now Amtrak station in Utica. Apart from fairly new Pennsy lettering, the hack is in sad shape, with much surface rust and a bevy of mechanical issues.

The caboose was built at the Pennsy's Altoona Shops in 1929, and then rebuilt inm the 1950's. It saw service with Penn Central and Conrail before being retired and sold to private interests. It has been at the museum since the mid 1990's.

It is definitely showing its age. The interior still awaits refinishing one day. Still, nice to see the caboose available for display.
