In stark contrast to the fleet of contemporary fire fighting vehicles within Station Number 1 in Bonners Ferry is this hose cart, a Waterous No. 1 made by the
Waterous Company, originally a Canadian company with roots that extend back to 1844. Originally a manufacturer of firefighting vehicles, the company pioneered both steam driven pumpers and internal combustion engine powered firefighting vehicles. This human powered hose cart was used by the Bonners Ferry Fire Department circa 1910.
Now proudly displayed beside Station No. 1, the hose cart was restored and put on display as an Eagle Scout Project. The project was accomplished in 2006 by Eagle Scout Robert Baker of Troop 114.
