Located just outside of the Carnegie built Tomah Free Library sits this bench dedicated to a "Friend of the Library".

Retired COL Jerry Riggle was well known in Tomah, WI. He served in the US Army in Germany in 1981-1983 and retired from nearby Fort McCoy in 1985. He was also a Korean War Veteran. He was known to enjoy hunting and loved to spend time with his family. The bench which honors him states that he was a Friend of the Library. He passed away in 2009 at the age of 78.
