EN: This outdoor altar with a statue of the Saint Nepomuk is located on a side street in the west of Oeschgen, close to the highway. The shelter and the statue date back to the period around 1730. Nepomuk was a very popular saint in the Habsburg Empire, and the area around Oeschgen belonged to Further Austria at that time. The artist is not definitely known, it was probably Hans Freitag (1682-1734).
DE: Dieses Bildhäuschen mit einer Nepomukstatue befindet sich an einer Strasse im Westen von Oeschgen, unweit der Autobahn. Das Häuschen und die Statue stammen aus der Zeit um 1730. Der Heilige Nepomuk war ja im Habsburgerreich sehr beliebt und die Gegend um Oeschgen gehörte damals noch zu Vorderösterreich. Der Künstler ist nicht eindeutig bekannt, wahrscheinlich war es Hans Freitag (1682-1734).
