In 1830 the Canterbury Town Pound was located outside the old city wall along Upper Bridge Road. It was under the jurisdiction of local Alderman Warren Chamberlain.
The only information we could find out about this old pound was on the wall itself where a smooth limestone plaques inset into the old city wall read:
"1830
CITY POUND
ALDERMAN WARREN CHAMBERLAIN"
