One of several historical meridian lines surveyed by Astronomers Royal before 1884 (when the Prime Meridian was determined), Flamsteed's Meridian line is marked on the inside of the Royal Observatory at Greenwich.
A nearby historical plaque reads as follows:
"This north-south line, or meridian, marks the west wall of the small garden building where the first Astronomer Royal, John Flamsteed, had his main telescope from 1689 -- a 140-degree mural arc made by Abraham Sharp."
