Es wird vermutet, dass diese Quelle die Wasserstelle des seligen Englmar war und das Wasser deshalb eine heilkräftige Wirkung gehabt haben soll.
Wie auf dem Schild an der Quelle ausgewiesen soll 1720 abt von Windberg berichtet haben:
"Innerhalb der Kapelle ist eine Quelle aus der die Pilger mit Ehrfurcht trinken, sich waschen und das Wasser an andere Orte mitnehmen!
Ich habe selbst davon getrunken, das Wasser ist sehr erfrischend
Die Quelle liegt am Europäischen Fernwanderweg E8 der von Irland nach Bulgarien führt.
Die Quelle wird von dem Kneipp Verein Sankt Englmar gepflegt

It is believed that this source was the watering hole of Blessed Englmar and the water should therefore have had a healing effect.
As stated on the sign at the source is 1720 abt Windberg have reported:
"Inside the chapel is a source of the drinking pilgrims with reverence, to wash and take the water to other places!
I've even tasted it, the water is very refreshing
The source is located on European Route E8 leading from Ireland to Bulgaria.
The well is maintained by the Kneippverein Sankt Englmar
