The Pepys Gate, named for 15th-century British Diarist Samuel Pepys, is flanked by impressive stone gateways with elegantly detailed and decorative wrought iron gates adorned with the badges of the Royal Hospital that formerly operated here, and the Old Royal Naval College.
The stone pillars are topped with large balls and feature intricately-carved reliefs honouring the Royal Navy and the Royal Artillery.
These reliefs and a massive stone gates give a grand impression as you pass through of the history and importance of this place.
The Pepys Gate is located at College Approach at King William Walk on the west side of the campus of the Old Royal naval College.
