The clock is in a wooden case that projects from the top of the building over West Street. The clock faces are set at an angle to each other to enable them to be seen along both sides of West Street. The two faces are identical and so only one is described here. The hour marks, which are Roman numerals, are attached to two rings and are coloured gold. The corners of the square face have intricate designs, also gold, with a fleur-de-lys at their centres. There is also a curved pattern within the inner circle that is again coloured gold. The hands, also gold, are a basic design.
