This building is the beautifully restored Red Deer train station. The city no longer has passenger train service.

The Calgary and Edmonton Railroad came to Red Deer in 1890 and this station was built by Canadian Pacific Railroad in 1910 (they bought CER in 1907) to replace the original wood-framed building. The station served passengers until 1985.

The building is a designated Municipal and Provincial Historic Resource.
