Peter Joseph (* 29. September 1789 in Bonn; † 23. Januar 1866 in Potsdam) influenced nearly half a century the art of gardening in Prussia. He designed spacious parks modeled on English landscape gardens and focused on a socially acceptable urban planning of Berlin by creating green spaces for recreation of the population. The focus of his work was in Berlin-Potsdam cultural space, but there is evidence of his work also in many other parts of Germany evidence.
