Fisher Meteorological Station, Harvard Forest - Petersham, MA - Weather Stations on Waymarking.com

In Petersham, within Harvard Forest, is the Fisher Meteorological Station in the center of a cow pasture.

This section of the Harvard Forest is located off Mass. Route 32, south of the intersection with Mass. Route 2 and north of the center of Petersham. There is a sign from the road. After parking in the parking lot in front of the Fisher Museum, walk up the access road going by the building and by Toorey Laboratory to a clearing where there is a pasture on the left.

The station itself is a metal frame tower with extensions off the tower supporting instruments. According to the web page for this and the hydrology station, the station records, "air temperature, relative humidity, precipitation, incoming and net radiation, barometric pressure, wind speed and direction, and soil temperature. Data for the current month are posted below. See archived data for ealier data and detailed documentation.?" The page also has links to pages reporting current conditions, 15 minute and daily tables. There are also archived data records.

The station has been operational since 2001.
