Ronald Belford Scott was born in Forfar, Angus on July 9th 1946 and lived in Kirriemuir until his family emigrated to Melbourne, Australia when he was six. They then moved to Fremantle where he played in the local pipe band. He fronted bands The Valentines and Fraternity before in 1974 joining rock band AC/DC until his death on a night out in London on February 19th 1980.

This statue was unveiled on April 30th 2016 at the Bellies Brae car park. It was sculpted by John McKenna and cost £45,000, funded in part by local community group DD8 Music and AC/DC fans from all over the world.
