Das "Jägerhäuschen" wurde um 1730 bis 1740 im Auftrag von Kurfürst Clemens August gebaut, der es als Pferdestall und Unterkunft für seine Parforce-Jagden im Kottenforst nutzte.
Das Gebäude wurde von der Forstverwaltung aufwändig restauriert und seither gepflegt. Heute ist es ein beliebtes Ausflugsziel für Wanderer, Radfahrer und andere Besucher des Kottenforsts und steht unter Denkmalschutz.
Bitte beachtet: Das Jägerhäuchen liegt mitten im Naturschutzgebiet Kottenforst und darf unter keinen Umständen direkt mit dem Auto angefahren werden! Die nächsten Parkplätze befinden sich bei: N50°39.343 E7°03.077.

The "Jägerhäuschen" (German for "hunting cabin") was built around 1730 to 1740 on the order of elector Clemens August. He used the building as horse stable and lodging during his coursings in the forest Kottenforst.
It has been refurbished and is maintained ever since by the forestry administration. Today, it is a popular destination for hikers, cyclists, and other visitors of the Kottenforst. It has been designated a historic monument.
Please note: The Jägerhäuschen is located in the middle of the nature reserve Kottenforst. It is not possible to go there by car directly. Next parking is at: N50°39.343 E7°03.077.
