The first production presented at the Wichita Theatre when it opened in 1908 was a national touring show His Honor, The Mayor written by Charles Henry Meltzer and A. E. Lancaster. The play originally opened at the Empire Theatre on Broadway in April of 1898 and starred William H. Crane. Now known as the Wichita Theatre Performing Arts Center, this historic building has proudly completed a large renovation including an additional 24,000 square foot lobby and meeting space to serve the events of Texoma.
