This gorgeous town clock is located on Cecil House above the Waitrose grocery store at 98-101 Marylebone High Street
This wall-mounted clock is mounted just between the ground and first floors of this turn-of-the-century 4-story building. Prominent features include an ornate housing with wine grapes and wine-making equipment on top, and a sailing schooner on the bottom. Perhaps the clock was originally made for a wine merchant located here 100 years ago.
In 2016, the clock still operates, but clearly the face has been replaced. Around the center of the white clock face, circling the mounting point for the hands, "Waitrose Marylebone" is pained in elegant letters. Elegantly flourished hands point to Roman numerals designating the hours and minutes.
