This life-sized terra-cotta sculpture depicts two women, standing back to back with their heads arching back toward the shoulder of the other woman.
The sign informs us that the artist is Mary Buckman and represents the connection between Kumeyaay women and our western women. The work was bought at auction and donated to the nearby Women's Museum. The Kumeyaay is the collective name for the indigenous peoples in the San Diego area.
