This gateway arch was designed by George Henderson in 1888 to commemorate the deaths, on the same day, of the 13th Earl of Dalhousie and his wife. It is designed in gothic style, with a crowstepped gable. It crosses the B966 road at the southern end of the large village of Edzell and is the emblem of the nearby Edzell Golf Club. Two additional small arches on either side of the main arch allow footpaths on either side of the road to go under it.
Type: Gateway

Subtype: Memorial

Location: The B966 road Edzell High Street
