Wintersmith is an 150-acre park on the south-southeast side of Ada. The park was established in 1907 with the damming of Lake Creek. Then, in 1933-34, the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) continued work on the area, adding hiking trails, bridges and culverts and an amphitheater. Following this, in the late 1930's, the Works Progress Administration (WPA) continued construction, adding picnic tables, bridges, and some rock structures.

The park offers a 1.5 mile hiking trail that meanders through the wooded areas and encircles the lake. 5K/10K walk/runs are held here periodically. The lake is stocked for fishing, and there are numerous picnic table facilities. The park has local fireworks displays, and a Christmas light show.

On the north side of the park is a great Kiwanis amusement park and playground. It contains a train, carousel, swimming pool and various pieces of playground equipment.

The park is named for Frances Wintersmith, an early civic leader in Ada. Admission is free and the area is a wonderful place to spend a day.
