Früher bestand Borkum aus zwei Inseln: Westland und Ostland. Der Bereich zwischen den Inseln wurde Tüskendör genannt. Wie die beiden Inseln miteinander verbunden und anschließend der See geschaffen wurden, ist hier auf den Infotafeln beschrieben.
Auch Vogelfreunde werden sich gerne die weiteren Infotafeln anschauen.
Technikfreunde werden einen Blick auf die Schleuse werfen. Mit dieser kann der Wasserstand beeinflusst werden - entsprechend der hier abzulesenden Wasserhöhe.

Formerly Borkum consisted of two islands: West Land and East Land. The area in between was called "Tüskendör". The information bord explains how the two island were combined.
Friends of the birds will look at the other information boards.
Finally you can read the water-level at this gauge. Nearby is the watergate to controll the water-level (but it is looked and you should not adjust it).
