There are several war memorials on the grounds of the courthouse. This memorial is the oldest of all of them, having been placed by V.F.W. Post 1202 on May 30, 1954.
The memorial consists of a stone obelisk approximately nine feet tall, with three foot side walls. The obelisk has an engraving of a World War II soldier. Flanking the memorial are flagpoles flying the U.S.and Oklahoma flags. The wording reads:
They sought no
glory but their
country's goodV.F.W. Post 1202

(south side wall)
Let none forget
They gave their all
And faltered not
When came the call
(north side wall)
