Dedicated on 4 July, 2006, this memorial paid tribute to all of Bangor, Wisconsin area residence who ever wore a uniform in the Armed Forces of the United States. This monument was dedicated on the 230th birthday of the United States of America by both the American Legion of Bangor and the VFW of Bangor at the Veteran's Memorial Park. Hundreds of people took part in the dedication ceremony and at the time of the dedication half of Bangor's population consisted of either Veterans or current Active Duty members of the Armed Forces. When the memorial was dedicated 100 names were inscribed with room for 400-500 more. At the time I took my picture 457 names were enshrined on the memorial wall. A unique plaque hangs on the wall which states "Special Thanks To Connie Simpson In Recognition of Her Generous Support of the Bangor Area Servicemen's Memorial With Her Help This Memorial Stands in Remembrance of Ronald "King" Simpson as Well as All Others From the Bangor Area Who Have Served in the Armed Forces"
