An annual event, the Oener Koefeest(cattle market), which is organized every year in October. Besides the cattle are kept all kinds of festivities, including a goods market, a flea market and a comprehensive agricultural exhibition.
The Oener Koefeest (cattle market) enjoys regional acclaim. Although there used to be really was traded and swapped cows owner, there is a ban on the act after the foot-and-mouth disease in 2001. The cattle market has now given way to a pony and horse market, where there are old-fashioned bargaining is practiced. In addition, every year there is an exhibition of different breeds of cows.

This bronze plastic sculpture is placed on the occasion of the 125th anniversary of the cattle market on oktober 15, 1981 and is made by Nenne van Dijk, London.
