This blue plaque is located west of Covent garden on Southampton Street, on the North Face store at 30-32 Southampton Street.

The plaque reads as follows:

"AMBROSE GODFREY
1660-1741

Chemist and Inventor of the fire extinguisher who lived in a house and worked in a laboratory and pharmacy on this site between 1706 and 1741"
