Church - Stones Prairie
Founded September 1884 |
Founders of this congregation abandoned their
homelands in Europe, escaping constant threats of
war and military service. These Lutherans, mostly
of German heritage, came to America where
promise of a new life of peace, prosperity, and
opportunity beckoned.
Early settlers of Stones Prairie area focused not
only upon material but also upon spiritual concerns,
as they continued to depend upon God for all
blessings necessary for life and true happiness.
Founding pioneer charter members that organized
their own Lutheran Church in this area were:

Ferdinand Langosch
Herman J. Petlitzer
John Rupp
Gottfried Saloga
George J. Schad
