The nice statuary of two little boys located in the largest urban public park in the center of Brussels - Brussels Park - Parc de Bruxelles (French) - Warandepark (Dutch), cloto to its largest fountain is the work of Gilles-Lambert Godecharle (1750 - 1835), a Belgian sculptor, who became one of two outstanding representatives of Neoclassicism in the Austrian Netherlands. The name of the statuary is "Trade and Ship transport (De handel en de scheepvaart)" and comes from 1784. They are allegorically represented by two naked little boys, one of them representing "the trade" has a winged hat on his head, he holds the caduceus of Mercury he he is sitting on bales of goods. The other one just holds a shield with a coat of the arms of the Johann Georg Adam Graf von Starhemberg (Prince of Starhemberg) who served in then Austrian Netherlands as authorized minister, i.e. the Minister Plenipotentiary of the Austrian Habsburgs in Brussels under Empress Maria Theresa and at the time of construction of the park.
