This mosaic mural depicts a parchment with a map of the Southwestern United States and Baja California with Southern California from Los Angeles to Mexico being shaded in red. "LOS ANGELES-SAN DIEGO" is written at the bottom of the scroll as well as a small coat of arms for John Cantwell (December 1, 1874 – October 30, 1947) who was the first archbishop of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Los Angeles.
The dates "1922-1936" appear near the top.
