The Clock tower was built in 1547 in Piazza Tre Martiri, replacing the ancient “beccherie” (public butcher’s), and reconstructed in 1759 by Giovan Francesco Buonamici. In 1875 the top of the tower ruined due to an earthquake, and it was restored in 1933. The clock, which dates back to 1562, overlook a perpetual calendar assembled in 1750, decorated by terracotta panels depicting zodiacal signs, months and lunar phases.
