Construction of the first Roman Catholic Church in Harbour Grace Junction began in 1888. The community was renamed Whitbourne in 1889. There are no obvious memorials in this cemetery dating from the 1880s. I suspect that there is an older catholic cemetery in the community. However, there are unmarked wooden crosses in this cemetery.
