The Old Mill in Mt. Carroll, IL was built in 1842. The mill was powered by water delivered to the mill by a 1/4th mile long mill race from the dam on the Waukarusa R.

By 1884 Mt. Carroll was the principal wheat market of Carroll and Stephenson counties. Today, only the foundation remains under the present building. The water wheel and race located at the site are nonworking reproductions.

Current Status: Ruin

Current Use: The building built on the foundation is an antique shop.
