The bell is the only thing left of the Jerry City High School.
It's hard to believe there has been a high school in this quiet little town but, during the great NW Ohio Oil Boom, Jerry City was really hopping.
The bell is placed on a cement base in a park which used to be the location of the school from 1895 to 1925.
Written on the plaque:
In Remembrance of the Jerry City High School
1895-1925
Alumni Association
1949
The bell was made in the C.S. Bell bellfoundry in Ohio. The maker's name appears on the yoke from which the bell was suspended.
