This lake is on the east side of US Hwy 81, in Brookings County.
Throughout the year fishermen can be seen standing/sitting on the rocks near the highway or in small boats out in the water.
As with most glacially formed lakes across eastern South Dakota, this lake has fish holding features close to shore that provide great action for a variety of species of fish.
Shore anglers should look for deeper water close to shore, and if that deeper water contains habitat such as rocks, trees or aquatic
vegetation, you've found a potential hotspot.
Areas with current can also be very good and do not be afraid to fish on the windy side of the lake.

For many years, I thought this body of water was just a slough, but then I researched it a bit and found the Game, Fish, and Parks of South Dakota actually have it named.
