This headstone would be more at home at nearby Chinn's Chapel or Shiloh Cemeteries, where many graves dating into the 1850s-1880s are marked by similar headstones. One might expect something different for a marker for a 1905 burial. This one is made of sandstone, with an accompanying footstone (with no markings), and it begins rectangular in shape before going to a point at its apex (note the line). The inscription is framed by guide lines in the lower half, and it says:
W.H. Hooper
Borned AD 1844
Died Jan 25 AD 1905
--
Note the discrepancy between the birth year here and that on Findagrave.
Date of Birth: 1844
Date of Death: 1/25/1905
