At the 'Schlossbergstraße' in Fischingen, Germany, Baden-Württemberg exists a Precision Sundial.
Because of the elliptic orbit of the earth and because of the the obliquity of the ecliptic sundial usualy have a difference of about a quater of an hour to the standard time. This difference is called 'equation of time'. This sundial corrects the equation of time automatically. The very special design of the shadow makers corrects this difference. At the left shadow border the standard time can be read off by a split of a minute.
The innovator was Martin Bernhardt. The manufactor was Werner Schreiner from Sulz.
