Former Coast Guard (?) helicopter now operated by Cal Fire.
Cal fire has 12 helicopters, some spotters, and not heavy lifters.
Wonder if this is the Skikorski Skycrane. It is for initial attack on a fire and can deliver a jump crew of nine/rescue.

Critical in providing for threeatened ground teams. Able to support wildfire efforts in a different way. Highly skilled pilots!
Cal Fire employs +4,000 permanent employees. 3,100 seasonal.
4,300 inmate trustees; and over 8,000 volunteers who asssist in hundreds of ways from supply, transport, meals, and on the line. There are over 500 stations and more than 700 engines.
On July 15, 2016, a 57 year old man was arrested in Foresthill for operating a drone and interferring with fire operations. This occurred over the Trailhead fire and required the grounding of aircraft. The fire ran 10+ days and burned 5,600 acres.
